DRAGONS IN VIDEO GAMES

We are aware that dragons are powerful creatures capable of using their fire breath.. They are one of the many staples of the dragon video game and often a staple of the fantasy realm, they are everywhere. In series (Netflix, Disney Rakuten), and in mythical dragon video games such as World of Warcraft.. These winged creatures are just cool, they bring emotion and intrigue to the story

With wise and brilliant dragons like Skyrim's Paarthurnax making every conversation deep and immensely entertaining, there's no reason not to include more dragons. For every heroic appearance, there are Evil Monsters looking to Burn and Loot, which often leads to more entertaining possibilities inside these respective dragon video games are among the best and most enjoyable in the history of Boss Battles, these Winged Beasts claim the top spots in many people's heads. Today, I intend to focus on these terrifying monsters of the air, and compile a (subjective) list of the top ten dragon boss battles in dragon video game history.

10. DRAGON VIDEO GAME : RIDLEY DRAGON : METROID

What could be better than a Dragon ? A space dragon...

ridley-metroid-armored-drake

Ridley is Samus Aran's sworn enemy, a recurring opponent in the Metroid series. As a space pirate, he is one of the most fun and tricky bosses in the game. His design is that of a dragon, a purple pterodactyl spitting fire and plasma.

Because Ridley is a fan favorite, it takes a long time to control him, but it is also one of the most tough challenges in the series. With each appearance, he has his share of new upgrades and abilities. Fighting him is frantic fun and incredibly challenging for any player not fully familiar with the game.

Even though this Flying Beast is not the main official antagonist of the series, Ridley is the boss who remains the big bad of the series. Not only does he serve as the perfect challenge in his own right, but he's also one of the best dragon fights in history

I mean, he's still a Space Dragon, who is also a pirate ! And who got remade into a robot. By the way, Ridley was named after Ridley Scott, the director of Alien, a movie that inspired the developers of the Metroid games.

9. DRAGON VIDEO GAME : BUBBLE BOBBLE DRAGON

Bubble Bobble is one of the most iconic cooperative games ever created... Specifically referred to as dragons in the series many times, their cute aesthetic is akin to a Mini Dragon, I'm listing them in the rankings

For a long time, I mistook these small creatures for dinosaurs. They have no wings, don't breathe fire, and are about the size of a pair of shoes. But that's because they're Bubble Dragons, after all.

Bob and bub were two brothers before they were changed by a magical power that only Baron Von Blubba could control. Dragons are present in all levels, and their purpose ? Blow bubbles at their opponents, trying to spare their own dear ones.. What a delightful way to die.

8. UR-DRAGON : DRAGON'S DOGMA

When confronting the Ur-Dragon, a boss with ridiculous health, the fight might drag on for a long time if you are not properly equipped. It might be difficult even with the best equipment and abilities, which is what makes the combat exciting and enjoyable. The Ur-Dragon is a true test of the player's patience and skill in Dragon's Dogma's boss encounters, which are the game's ultimate attraction.

While the offline version is often considered a pushover, the online version requires a multitude of different players to help you have a chance at defeating the fearsome beast. The combat gameplay is very difficult, but being one of the players who takes down the creature can be incredibly rewarding, as some of the most powerful weapons is at your fingertips after killing it.

In the worst case, the Ur-Dragon can simply fly away and ruin the contribution of dozens of players online. You know... It's still a game.

7. RAYQUAZA DRAGON : SUPER SMASH BROS BRAWL

Since its first appearance in Pokemon Ruby, Rayquaza has been one of many Pokemon to appear everywhere, making appearances in a multitude of later games, in other spin-offs and most notably, Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Dragons played an important role in Dragon Age Inquisition, functioning as hidden mini-bosses in each level, requiring careful tactics and strategies to have even a hope of defeating them. And while there are several unforgettable and interesting dragons that would fit into this list, such as the Abyssal Dragon or the Fereldan Frostback, none are more entertaining, challenging and worthy of the show than Hivernal.

Lurking in the Lion's Hold level, winter is the first of three dragons located in the east of the map that are the most difficult to defeat. Although he's the easiest of the three, he's probably the most spectacular. Fighting him atop a broken tower, frozen by puddles of icy water, surrounded by shards of crystal, is the epitome of epic. With a mix of air and ground attacks, the dragon is not only well designed but looks smart, Hivernal is hard to take down, the player's group management skills are put to the test.

Although not part of the main story and a dragon that most players will avoid, Hivernal makes its mark, with one of the most exciting dragon video game battles inthe genre. As one of the only memorable dragons outside of the two mentioned above, he is a fitting optional challenge for those who go hunting for the old big dragons.

5. DRAGON VIDEO GAME : ALDUIN SKYRIM

No list of dragons would be complete without the World Eater himself. The largest dragon to ever exist in the realm of Tamriel, it would herald the end of the world itself. Skyrim's final boss may be considered more of a formality than a great boss, but beyond all that, the fight against Alduin is one of the most epic in all of the games

Traversing the realm of Soverngarde, the misty skies with the voices of the ancient heroes of the North in the background, this is the perfect setup for agreat boss. Not to mention that as you pass through the fog, you see all those characters who stumbled and died while playing. Kodlak, Ulfric and Legate Rikke all wander aimlessly trying to escape the world eater that flies overhead, never to be seen. The whole scene is almost perfect. And when you gather the heroes of old to face the dragon god, you shudder with excitement

It's amazing to fight alongside the old heroes, and it's even better to take on Alduin alongside those who did so long before. The battle against the Boss could have been better if it had a distinctive design and a set of new moves rather than a classic dragon remake, but there's no denying the perfect atmosphere generated by facing the dragon and the emptiness left in the players' hearts after slaying the horrible creature. The combat quality is arguable, yet it is one of the game's most epic experiences.

When the guardian Tsun is tougher than the final boss, we wonder why he didn't go after Alduin. It would have saved us the trip.

4. SINH : DARK SOULS 2

While the quality of Dark Souls II is often debated, its DLC packs are without a doubt the highlight of the game, offering some of the most layered and complex levels in the entire series.

sinh-dragon-armored-drake

From the Mist Tower and the Smoky Knight, to Eleum Loyce and the Ivory King, the DLC has made great strides in improving the quality of the game. And alongside all of this was one of the best fights in the game. Deep within Shulva, the City of Sanctuary, guarded by fanatics and a shard of Manus himself, lies Sinh, the Sleeping dragon.

Dragon poisonous dragon impaled by Yorgh's spear, Sinh  manages to greatly improve upon the mediocre dragon fights of the base game. Combining aerial attacks and ground fighting almost perfectly, the boss fight is a joy to behold. Both fair and nice, it combines the mechanics that make most bosses great to create a truly enjoyable experience.

Another bonus is the story that from software created behind the sleeping dragon, so that the fight has some weight. You will learn how he plunged the city into poison after the invasion of the Flagblood Knights. All this, coupled with his past appearances in the game burning enemies for you, makes the whole experience of confronting him one of the best in the series.

3. URTHEMIEL : DRAGON AGE ORIGINS

Dragon Age Origins was a love letter to fans of the fantasy genre, and while it doesn't really age well in terms of graphics, it can still be called one of the greatest fantasy games of all time. Conflicts, plot, and people have all come together to create one of the most rich and engrossing experiences ever.

urthemiel-armored-drake

To be honest, there are a lot of dragons in the game. From small adversary dragons to gigantic dragons, the Archdemon is the most epic and dazzling of them all.
At the end of the game, the player and his party choose to fight in a torn world and confront Urthemiel, a corrupted god, the scourge. He is a gigantic and impressive dragon who is the big bad of the game. This boss is an effective test of the player's skills and ability to maneuver his party. It is challenging and well designed. It's fantastic that such a fantastic game concludes with such a fantastic fight.

One of the most heroic or heartbreaking moments is when you, Alistair will choose to slay the beast, sacrificing yourself in the process. The finale is flawless, deserving of a superb game and including one of the greatest fights ever seen. It's remarkable, because it's like the last page of a book, the culmination of an entire scenario, with your companions fighting by your side throughout the game, it's simply amazing.

You also have the choice to ruin your experience, and have all your friends run away from you at the end, to be stuck with the characters you like least, to slay the boss without losing all dramatic tension But only an idiot would attempt anything like that... Don't you think so ?

2. RATHALOS : MONSTER HUNTER WORLD

There are plenty of dragons and wyverns in the Monster Hunter universe, but the Rathalos are undoubtedly the flagship monsters of the franchise.

rathalos-armored-drake

Flying wyverns have been part of the series since the very beginning and have appeared in every Monster Hunter game to date. Rathalos, often known as "Kings of the Sky," patrol the sky around their nests and hunt for food. These colorful creatures are prone to surprise aerial attacks, but they are also formidable opponents on the ground.

They can inflict poisonous wounds with theirtalons, burn opponents with their fiery breaths, or simply chase them down and inflict damage with their ox tails. After beating their prey into submission, they hide them to eat them in private.

In Monster Hunter World, the Rathalos is present as a Boss, it makes the player see all the colors, because he enjoys a formidable advantage: the air.

1. KALAMEET : DARK SOULS

And, yeah, Dark Souls deserves a special mention. This mythical dragon, so feared that even the gods shun it, is hidden in the fantastic "Artorias of the Abyss" (Dark Souls Remastered). Of course, I'm referring to the Black Dragon Kalameet.

kalameet-armored-drake

Found terrorizing the skies of Oolacile, the player will call upon the skills of "Hawkeye Gough" with his bow, a blind giant, to slay him. This begins one of the most tense and balanced battles in the entire series. FightingKalameet is a joy, watching him leap onto the battlefield and spit fire at you. Learning and assimilating his moves, is quite difficult and appealing, as he has a myriad of air and ground techniques, each one fair, unlike Sinh, who can string together a lot. The black dragon Kalameet is a striking example Boss fight in a game. It's a well-run titanic clash and, frankly, I can't imagine a tougher showdown. An impressively scripted battle against an incredibly well-realized dragon. Perfection.
